Space planning of an educational area in Refugee Camp
Project Overview
Stella Stavrinou and team were tasked in turning a land provisioned by the Greek State into an Education Area, placing classes, the work out facilities and the rest rooms and configuring the landscape (changing altitudes when needed).
What problem was the project designed to solve?
Hundreds of children refugees in the island of Lesvos didn’t have enough classrooms and facilities for proper education. Metadrasis is an NGO focused on refugee education decided to act.
What did you do and who was involved?
Metadrasis tasked me and my team to help them expand their educational area
What was the outcome?
An additional 10 classes were made available to the refugee camp for the daily education of refugee students.
What challenges did you address and how?
Following up the construction of the project, the original budget was very low, it was very underfunded.
