
Prof. Tracy Dawn Morse
Prof. Tracy Dawn Morse is a Professor of Environmental Health and Head of the Strathclyde Centre for Sustainable Development, within the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow.
With over 20 years based in Malawi, she leads an interdisciplinary research team focused on environmental health challenges in low- and middle-income countries, particularly water, sanitation, hygiene (WASH), food safety, air quality, maternal and child health, and community development strategies aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals
Tracy has spearheaded several high-impact research initiatives, including the Scotland Chikhwawa Health Initiative, the Sanitation and Hygiene Applied Research for Equity Consortium (SHARE), WATERSPOUT, and the Global Health Research Group on Adolescent Health and Well‑Being. Her work has directly informed national health policy in Malawi, notably through the development of scalable training toolkits and hygiene interventions that have been adopted at the national level.
Tracy holds a PhD in Environmental Health from the University of Strathclyde, where her doctoral research examined interventions to reduce childhood cryptosporidiosis in Malawi. She continues to engage in community-focused, transdisciplinary research that promotes equity and sustainability across global health systems.
