Lu Rauslova is a Portfolio Manager in the Engineering Theme at the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). In her current role, she oversees the portfolio for materials engineering, covering metals and alloys, composites, and ceramics tendering and research funding strategy.

Lu collaborates with academic and industry stakeholders to shape funding calls, manage peer review panels, and ensure that proposals aligned with EPSRC’s strategic priorities receive expert evaluation. Her work supports high‑risk, fundamental engineering research that addresses major societal challenges and helps guide the national research agenda in materials innovation
UK Research and Innovation.

Additionally, as convenor for the Engineering Early Career Forum (ECF), Lu is engaged in community outreach through the EPSRC Early Career Forum in Engineering Research, where she helps facilitate early career researcher input into policy and funding decision-making processes.

With a keen interest in fostering inclusive research culture, she plays a key role in EPSRC’s efforts to support diverse talent and strategic growth across the engineering sciences. Her guidance is vital to maintaining rigorous and equitable oversight across materials research areas, ensuring that EPSRC funding helps advance pioneering discoveries and technological breakthroughs across the UK.
