To reach its full potential, engineering must attract and retain more women.

Women are disproportionately affected by climate change and biodiversity loss due to health, caring responsibilities, limited resources, and a close connection to their environment. Their daily experiences can uniquely enrich engineering solutions.

This failure mode asks:

How can we make engineering more appealing to girls and women globally?

How can we integrate women’s practical knowledge, listening skills, and diverse perspectives into engineering?

How can we increase the visibility of female engineers and their contributions?

This theme will weave through all our efforts, ensuring diversity and inclusivity are at the core of FeME’s mission.
