Surveying for the construction of water and sewage system supplies in refugee camp
Project Overview
Aktor SA hired Stella Stavrinou and her team to survey in the field pipe lines for water and sewage system in the refugee camp Movrovouni (aka Kara Tepe) in Lesvos.
What problem was the project designed to solve?
There was no sewage system and water supply in the refugee camp and the Greek State contracted Aktor SA and my team to build that.
What did you do and who was involved?
We carried out a detailed land plan with precise altitudes and measures so the sewage pipelines and the water pipelines would be placed and be functional.
What was the outcome?
Clean water for the refugees and no toilet waste.
What challenges did you address and how?
The working area was always crowded with people (refugees) who shouldn’t be there.
